Brian Terry Family Statement On Arrest Of Murder Suspect In Mexico
Phoenix, AZ - “This is a long-awaited arrest and a great development in the murder investigation of Brian. To the extent closure can ever be realized this is an important part of the process. However, the key issue of government accountability remains. Why was the operation that killed Brian authorized and who will be held to account? These questions must be answered no matter how high we must look to get them. The family looks forward to the pending Inspector General’s report.”
-Robert Heyer. Mr. Heyer was Brian Terry’s cousin and serves as the Chairman of the Brian Terry Foundation.
The Terry family will be gathering next weekend in Tucson, Arizona. The First Annual Brian Terry Foundation Dinner will be held on Monday, September 17th at the JW Marriott. U.S. Congressman Darrell Issa and U.S. Congressman Ron Barber will join members of the Arizona congressional delegation, other guests and the Terry family to honor Brian. For more information or to purchase tickets to the celebration please go to www.honorbrianterry.com. The following day the Terry family will be joining the U.S. Border Patrol for a ceremony renaming the Naco, Arizona Border Station in Brian’s honor.
The family will be doing a limited number of interviews on Sunday and Monday prior to the dinner. The Monday night dinner itself will be open to the media. For interviews or credentials please contact Scerbo or Rose.
The Brian Terry Foundation website www.honorbrianterry.com is collecting donations to raise funds for the families of slain Border Patrol agents, to raise public awareness of the flawed Fast and Furious investigation, and to establish educational scholarships. The Terry family wants to make certain that any mistakes made by the Justice Department during the investigation are never repeated.
To arrange interviews with Mr. Heyer about the recent development and today’s statement please contact Mike Scerbo or Jason Rose.
